Marketing Manager

Role Responsibilities

The Texas Trust Marketing Manager takes ownership of marketing initiatives, develops effective strategies to meet the needs of the credit union, and manages the production and distribution of marketing messages. This professional works as an integral part of the credit union’s marketing team. Under the direction of the AVP of Marketing Communications, the Marketing Analyst’s responsibilities and duties include:
  • Promotions: Develop and execute effective advertising promotions for credit union products and services in alignment with the credit union’s strategic initiatives; Work with the Marketing Experience Manager and the Digital Marketing Specialist to distribute our messages through all channels; Execute third-party marketing efforts;
  • Design: Create effective, on-trend designs for all channels and environments to ensure the member experience meets credit union standards and is consistent across all platforms; Ensure work product complies with brand standards and is otherwise free of errors; Route and obtain necessary approvals according to department policies and procedures; Manage and maintain marketing assets, logos, and files on internal network;
  • Copy: Write persuasive and strategic copy for marketing campaigns and initiatives to meet goals and objectives; Ensure copy is correct, compliant, and otherwise free of errors; Route and obtain necessary approvals according to department policies and procedures;
  • Production: Manage the printing and production of marketing deliverables for all channels; Manage and utilize the credit union-owned production equipment; Source, negotiate, and coordinate the services of third-party vendors;
  • Media Buying: Manage the media buying process.Source, negotiate, and coordinate the purchase of all traditional media. Work closely with the Digital Marketing Specialist to ensure digital media buy is properly targeted and aligns with overarching initiative(s);
  • Marketing Channels: Maintain and own statement messaging, direct mail, and all traditional media channels (radio, newspaper, local publications, billboard, etc.)
  • Reporting: Track and analyze effectiveness and progress of marketing messages and campaigns; course correct as indicated by results; Develop, maintain, and distribute marketing promotion calendar;
  • Troubleshooting: Independently resolve issues through various means of research, testing, and troubleshooting;
  • Project Management: Utilize department project management tool (InMotion) to keep team informed of project status; Ensure assigned projects are managed effectively, produced on time, and executed within budget;
  • Collaboration: Work with marketing team and subject matter experts to identify needs and to develop effective marketing campaigns and messages.
  • Teamwork:Provide support as needed to the Marketing team; Assist with marketing events as needed;
  • Management: Direct the efforts of the Marketing Production Assistant; Coordinate the efforts of marketing agencies as directed by supervisor;
  • Other Duties: as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; additional experience may be used to offset;
  • Minimum of five years’ work experience within the credit union movement with experience in marketing and communications.

Skills, Education and/or Certifications Required

  • Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop; Must be able to convert messages and assets across all Adobe platforms;
  • Understanding of current marketing and communications trends;
  • Skill in big-picture thinking and strategic planning as well as presenting new ideas, strategies, and initiatives both proactively and responsively;
  • Detail-oriented awareness and execution;
  • Effective project management in a fast-paced environment with competing timelines, priorities, and limited budgets;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to give presentations, lead meetings, and contribute to groups and gatherings of varied sizes;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Must possess a commitment to diversity and the credit union’s mission, vision, and core values.
