POSITION SUMMARY:

This position provides speech pathology evalutation and treatment to referred patients. The Speech Pathologist is responsible for evaluation, treatment, communication, and education within the hospital.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Masters Degree in Speech Pathology
  • Basic Life Support/CPR
  • Eligible for provisional license in Speech Language Pathology

Preferred:

  • 1 year experience in position applied for
  • Experience conducting Modified Barium Swallow Studies

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Conducts cognitive, communication, speech and swallowing assessments on patients referred for Speech Therapy
  • Provides treatment to patients referred for Speech TherapyEducates patients, families, caregivers, and staff related to cognitive, speech, and swallowing deficitsCommunicates and collaborates effectively with team and physician
  • Documents results of Speech Therapy services in Medical Records
  • Conducts Discharge planning for patients according to need
