Description
The Corporate Risk Manager Provides direct leadership and supervision to the Risk Management team including planning and assigning work, coaching sessions, providing training and development opportunities. This position is also responsible for:

  • Directing the purchase of insurance programs, management of claims and loss control activities, management of relationships with third party service providers including brokers, insurers and other TPAs, preparing loss analyses and budgets, identifying exposures, recommending solutions, implementing approved programs, promoting loss prevention, updating and monitoring compliance with insurance procedures and managing safety/risk management manuals
  • Manage end-to-end corporate insurance placement, administration, and renewal process including managing broker services, negotiating contracts, evaluating service levels, developing and maintaining relationships
  • Use independent discretion to design and manager insurance programs by working collaboratively to develop risk transfer and retention programs that optimize cost of risk while accommodating the varying risk appetites of the company
  • Lead and champion Risk Management throughout the company by facilitating process to identify and monitor key, secondary, and emerging risks; tracking the development, execution, and regularly updating key risk mitigation plans; This also includes supporting the development and implementation of a more robust process for identifying emerging risks throughout the company
  • Act as consultancy to various corporate departments and management concerning risk avoidance, retention, and contract compliance
  • Keep abreast of new insurance products, market conditions and financial strength of insurers
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in risk management and insurance
  • ARM, CPCU or MBA preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Proficient Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Ability to effectively utilize analytical and critical thinking skills, think creatively and strategically and be “big picture” oriented, while also being appropriately detail oriented and accurate
  • Experience with Captive Insurance Companies preferred
