Job Description

As a Research Manager, you are responsible for managing specific project phases and/or projects with oversight from a Vice President or Research Director. The Research Manager is able to contribute to complex technical tasks and projects. You will be expected to focus on several areas of specialization and have an interest in quantitative research, brand and consumer experience, and the automotive industry.

You should be proficient in several technologies and be willing to master several more, including GfKs online portal software, statistical analysis software package, Excel and PowerPoint, which you will use to complete project tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibility

  • Serve as liaison with project management staff to monitor the implementation of projects
  • Develop questionnaires and table / banner plans to ensure accuracy for analysis purposes
  • Perform quality assurance function in questionnaire design and programming, data table output, as well as reports and other client deliverables
  • Learn and create programs that automate tasks on the GfK portal, in Excel or SPSS
  • Design PowerPoint slides for each survey question or section, using prior reports and adding new design elements
  • Work with and understand complex and large sets of data
  • Analyze and report research results that will be reviewed and may be edited by senior researchers
  • Work with senior researchers to support the Key Account Managers with sales activities, such as project specifications, pricing, or sections of proposals

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years within the Market Research industry (vendor or client side)
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with colleagues
  • Balance of strong team skills and ability to work well independently
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to explain complex issues concisely and effectively
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in statistical and data reporting tools, such as SPSS or Survey Reporter, a plus
  • Prior brand and/or ad tracking experience a plus
  • Experience in the automotive industry a plus

Education

  • BA/BS in Marketing or related degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
