Key Job Responsibilities:
The Quality Manager is responsible for all aspects of quality and mission success as the leader of the Future Vertical Lift (FVL) Market Segment in the Sikorsky Aircraft line of business (LOB). This position will report to the Director of Quality for the Sikorsky Aircraft LOB.

The candidate will provide leadership to the FVL Quality organization, which includes Program Quality, Production Quality, Engineering Quality, and Inspection. The candidate will be responsible for executing and implementing the Quality and LOB strategies and objectives to achieve mission success. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring flow-down and execution of the Quality contract requirements and Quality functional support to the programs within the market segment throughout the program life cycle from proposals, through production and sustainment.

Establishes and leads the Quality Program Team (QPT) including, but not limited to Engineering Quality, Supplier Quality, and Core Quality.

The candidate will also provide leadership through identification and implementation of process improvement efforts, as well as cross-functional collaboration, in the corresponding RMS Quality initiatives including, but not limited to: Root Cause Analysis, Digital Transformation, Engineering Quality including Systems, Software, and Hardware Quality Engineering, Data Analytics, and Design & Development. This role is also accountable for establishing, performing and managing annual budgets, headcount, DCI%, capital requests, Quality metrics, employee growth and development, and employee performance and training requirements.


Employee Population: This position is directly responsible for leadership to an organization of a growing team (currently 2 associates) to support development.

Primary Customers/External Interaction: Key interface and establishment of effective relationships with all corresponding Customer Oversight Agencies (i.e. DCMA, MDA, DoD Customer, etc.), Program VPs, and Directors.

Key Cross-LOB or Functional Partnerships/Touchpoints: Key interface with Sikorsky Aircraft LOB, Production Operations, Engineering & Technology, Supply Chain, Contracts, and RMS Quality leadership.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Program Quality Plans
  • Proposals support
  • Program reviews
  • Managing collaboration efforts with customers and DCMA for contract statement of work compliance to the quality management system
  • Maintaining a collaborative relationship with the Teamsters Local 1150
  • Monitor and manage Quality budgets for product quality, program quality, and related projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Strong communication skills including the ability to interface effectively with executive leadership on strategic and tactical issues affecting the quality of products and services.

Experienced leader with a minimum of 10 years in various Quality, Operations, Engineering, and/or Program Management positions with increasing responsibility.

Extensive knowledge of DOD contract requirements and Program Quality Management.

Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions, set priorities and provide succinct direction in a dynamic business environment.

Demonstrated track record of working with multiple customers and forming strong internal and external customer relationships.

Ability to balance teaming and flexibility while maintaining independence and ensuring process adherence.

Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership skills.

Experience building a strong team of direct and matrixed employees.

Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and drive change.

Strong working knowledge of problem solving/root cause analysis and process management.

Ability to drive the foundation for business and program performance.

Ability to think and act strategically.

Ability to give, receive, and act on critical feedback.

Ability to form creative partnerships to improve execution and competitive performance.
Desired Skills:
Master’s Degree in Business or Engineering related discipline

Experienced in implementing and maintaining AS9100-certified Quality Management Systems

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Tools

Engineering Quality Experience

Experience working in Agile Methodologies
