Senior Systems Engineer

As a Senior Systems Engineer within the RTG Implantables Product Development organization you will work on a team with individuals who have a strong background in systems engineering and are passionate about system maturity/reliability, integration, characterization, verification and validation.

A Day in the Life

  • You will provide leadership in the development of cutting edge products used in the medical field
  • You will design, develop, test and document software, hardware and system components and applications
  • You will lead the definition and development of user needs, business needs, use cases, requirements and system architecture
  • You will lead the analysis of identified design solutions to ensure fulfillment of needs, use cases, requirements, and systems architecture
  • You will provide leadership in planning and conducting user evaluations of product concepts
  • You will provide leadership in identifying and addressing technical risks, product hazards and failure analysis
  • You will provide clinical knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques
  • You will troubleshoot system component integration in addition to maintaining and supporting existing products
  • You will provide technical expertise to products outside the ENT product portfolio
  • You will support labs and surgical evaluations of products in addition to representing the company at industry trade shows and customer sites
  • You will lead the identification and implementation of process improvements

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

You will have a Bachelors’ degree in an Engineering Discipline and 4+ years experience or an advanced degree and 2+ years experience.

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Reliability Engineering or Mathematics
  • Experience in engineering and testing mission critical systems and/or medical device systems
  • Experience working with detailed requirements and traceability in order to author test plans, protocols and reports
  • Familiarity with software design, algorithm design, GUI design and iterative software development practices
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical design, drawings, tolerance analysis and CAD
  • Proven ability to accomplish critical project level objectives in a team environment
  • Experience working in a regulated and/or FDA medical device environment and knowledge of or experience working with ISO and Quality System Regulation requirements
